Raised in Hanmer, a small community North of Sudbury, Daniel Giroux has been
serving Collège Boréal for approximately 13 years. He is currently Vice-President of Les
Entreprises « Boréal » and he is responsible for apprenticeship and trades programs,
corporate training, continuing education, student placements, employment and
immigration related services. Daniel is also responsible for 5 campuses and 48 points of
service in 38 different communities throughout the province.
Mr. Giroux received his MBA degree from Laurentian University in 2007 and received
his professional certification in general accounting (CGA) in 2001.
Mr. Giroux has an extensive background in both the public and private sectors.
Over the years, he used his leadership, teamwork and negotiating skills by managing
numerous contracts with HRDC, FedNor, NOHFC, Industry Canada, ACCC, MCTU and
many more. He played a key role in the construction of the main campus in Sudbury, the
new trades facility in Sudbury that opened its doors in September 2006, and more
recently the construction of a new campus in Timmins.
Before joining Collège Boréal, Mr. Giroux spent 4 years with Timberock International, a
company specializing in the rebuilding/repairing of hydraulic drills and in the selling of
anfo-loading and feed systems for the mining industry.
To this day, Mr. Giroux continues to be a strong believer in postsecondary education and
economic development and is proud to be part of the Management team at Collège
Boréal.
