Jon is a Professional Engineer with over 17 years in the mining industry. He was born and spent his early years growing up in Haileybury, Ontario.

Jon came to Sudbury in 1989 to attend Laurentian University and has been in Sudbury ever since. He graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and then later returned to the university to obtain his MBA, graduating in 1999. Jon spent the first 6 years of his career in the engineering field which allowed him to develop his technical skills. He then moved into operations and spent the next 9 years working in roles from Front Line Supervisor to Plant Superintendent. He was accountable for the management of operations at Copper Cliff South Mine and at Creighton Mine which are very large and complex mining operations. In these roles he developed invaluable social and managerial skills that will serve him well in his capacity as a Chamber board member.

In his last 2 years in the Production Services group Jon has been dealing with many processes and companies in Sudbury and across Ontario; he understands very well the needs of the stakeholders of this community. Jon looks forward to being a part of the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and in helping the Chamber continue to be a successful contributor to the community. His dedicated work ethic, friendly attitude, and strong problem solving skills will be a benefit to the Chamber.
